Best day for ages weather wise and after a slow start not a bad days fishing either.
This was the third time that we’d tried to go in the last 10 days with Barry Harvey and more Romsey Highwaymen….Started off on a usually productive bank about 8 mile off looking for some Blonde Rays but failed miserably, although a little further away Gregg on Southern Star had been catching from the off. A quick move and we were into fish from the first drop. We ended up with 8 Blondes and about half a dozen Eels.
Biggest Blonde was caught by Sid and wound by Erik around 18lb…will be doing a lot more of this fishing from now until the boat comes out of the water in a few weeks; fish run to high twenties and there are also some cracking big Spurdogs, Tope, Bass and the ever present Snakes to add a bit of Variety.
Would also like to say a big congrats to Robbie (caught) and Andy (talked / drove) aboard Viking who landed and then released a 14lb 8oz Bass. Big up Blobby.
