The third attempt at getting out for Richard Warner (bros) and his crew. We started with a supposed Shark trip in September and with three more cancelled dates we ended up with a day inshore. Colourful crew this lot; made up of Warner(bros), Flapper, Darren, Jamie, English Phil and Weymouth Will……
Rich was first off with a pretty little Spotted Ray, Flapper next up with a nice Pollock nudging 12lb, very few Whiting over the slack but loadsa Pout and with the ebb tide away it was eyes down for a Cod – Darren catches the first, I sneak the second then all quiet (bar Dogs) until Rich winds up a strap Conger about 20lb. Last knockings and Team Wales / Weymouth Will who’ve bemoaned specimen fish all day in favour of the greater skill of catching very little spring into action with a beauty of 17lb 8ozs. Well done Will – smile said it all. I’m sure you’ll recognise the bite next time…..
