as Requiem sharks elsewhere in the world the Tope
has long been regarded as one of the UK’s true
sporting species. Anglers adopted a catch and release
mentality to these beautiful fish long before any
other species was thought of in the same vein.

Fishing: Inshore fishing around Lymington
and the Isle of Wight is usually thought of in one
light. Cod fishing in the winter months on the famous
Needles grounds. These grounds have a reputation going
back 40 or more years for producing the best big winter
